This too, shall pass.

Everything passes, good and bad.
I.G.

Here lies one who knew how to get around him men who were cleverer than himself
Andrew Carnegie’s epitah

To find a partner who is following their dreams, you must first be following your dreams.
Ryan Allis — Lessons from my 20s

Do one thing everyday that scares you.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.  They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Steve Jobs

Everything around you that you call life was made up by people. And you can change it.
Steve Jobs

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
Friedrich Nietzsche

Existence precedes essence.
Sartre

Luck is opportunity meeting preparation.

Create as much shit as possible. If you can’t create art, consume it. Research. Corroborate inspiration.
L.P.

We’ve all made similar mistakes to get to the state of wisdom we have today…some just made them earlier, and continue to make them quicker, and are overall daring enough to realise that this process is unavoidable; this is life’s essence, and we should embrace it for all it is.

That’s living.

Creativity comes from applying things you learn in other fields to the field you work in.
Aaron Swartz

Do one thing every day that scares you.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It’s not where someone is and what they’re doing now, but how they got to that point which is the most interesting.

You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
Steve Jobs

Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.
James J. Lachard (Jim Brown), ~Dalai Lama

Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.
Steve Jobs

Just be yourself and the right people will come to you.
Y.J.

When 99% of people doubt your idea, you’re either gravely wrong or about to make history.
Scott Belsky

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.
Bernard Baruch

Happiness is a matter of one’s most ordinary everyday mode of consciousness being busy and lively and unconcerned with self.
Iris Murdoch

So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?
Hunter S. Thompson

You may be 38 years old, as I happen to be. And one day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls you to stand up for some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are afraid…. You refuse to do it because you want to live longer…. You’re afraid that you will lose your job, or you are afraid that you will be criticized or that you will lose your popularity, or you’re afraid that somebody will stab you, or shoot at you or bomb your house; so you refuse to take the stand.

Well, you may go on and live until you are 90, but you’re just as dead at 38 as you would be at 90. And the cessation of breathing in your life is but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.
Martin Luther King Jr.

When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and you’re life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.
Steve Jobs

Nature surrounds us, from parks and backyards to streets and alleyways. Next time you go out for a walk, tread gently and remember that we are both inhabitants and stewards of nature in our neighbourhoods.
David Suzuki

People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you. You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity. Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head. You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.
Banksy

The things you own end up owning you.
from Fight Club

If you can’t sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying. It’s the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep.
Dale Carnegie

I never knew a man come to greatness or eminence who lay abed late in the morning.
Johnathan Swift

I had been right, I was still right, I was always right. I had lived my life one way and I could just as well have lived it another. I had done this and I hadn’t done that. I hadn’t done this thing but I had done another. And so?
